What to expect during your treatment

  • After your consultation, your skin care specialist will choose a custom peel that is right for the clients skin type and what results they are looking for.
  • It is normal to feel tingling, burning or itching, during the treatment process. Depending on the client, the skin care specialist will determine how long the peel will be left on the skin. She/he will ask varies of simple questions to ensure clients comfort level.
  • Once the peel is left on he skin for appropriate amount of time, it will then be neutralized.
  • Once it is being neutralized the discomfort(itching, burning or tingling) will gradually go down.
  • Your skin will be  neutralized the second time, but left on the skin for short amount of time. The skin will also be fanned during this process.
  • The specialist will then again use cloth to pat dry all over the face.
  • Once the skin is neutralized completely, the client will experience a mini soothing facial massage with moisturizer and sunblock. this will ease and sooth the skin.
  • Now your service is complete.

Chemical Peel After Care

  • It is normal for your skin to feel slight warm, tingling, burning or itching.
  • It is advised to avoid sunlight for few days to a week. If the client is going to be outdoors wear sunblock! Sunblock should be at least 20SPF or higher. If you are going to be out in the sun apply sunblock every hour. Be cautious and wear a hat.
  • Do not exfoliate the skin with any exfoliate product or manual face brushes. For at least 2-3 weeks.
  • Do not use any products that contain AHA, BHA, Rentin-A benzyl peroxide, topical creams or anything that contains acids should be avoided for at least 3 weeks after a Chemical Peel.
  • It is normal for the skin to flake off dead skin cells. Some clients will experience a "Purge" phase. This means your skin may have a minor break out. Some may even get slight scabbing to the skin. This is all superficial and normal and it will slough off. Your skin over the course of 1-4 weeks will go through phases.
  • Do not itch the skin or pick at the skin! Remember your skin is vulnerable and sensitive. Be very gentle to the skin always.
  • Any thing cooling will feel great on the skin during the phases. Use products that are gentle without harsh acids or chemicals.

ADVERSE EXPERIENCES THAT MAY OCCUR AFTER YOUR PEEL:  It is common and expected that your skin will be red and possibly itchy and/or irritated. It is also possible that other adverse experiences (side effects) may occur.  the following adverse experiences have been reported by patients after having a Chemical Peel: skin breakout or acne, rash, scabing ,dark spots, hyperpigmentation ,swelling, and burning.
LACK OF EFFECT: Although most people experience peeling/flakiness of their facial skin, not every patient notices visibly peeling after a Chemical Peel procedure.
